Removal of Shrubs - Knowledgebase Question

I am trying to remove the shrubs that are around my house they are too close to the foundation, besides having them pulled up what can I put down to kill the roots. I also have a bush the on the ends have that feather look I do not know the name of it but how can I remove it also.

Depending on what kinds of shrubs you have, pulling them out and digging out most of the roots may be sufficient. You could however paint the cut ends with an herbicide containing glyphosate. To be sure, I would suggest you check with your local county extension. They should be able to help you identify the shrubs and can suggest additional steps if necessary. They may appreciate a photo of the different plants to help identify them. Good luck with your project!
