Datura, known as Angel's Trumpet, is a magnificent plant, generally grown indoors. It likes average household temperatures and a well-lit spot (even some sunshine). Mist the leaves occassionally and repot as the plant roots become crowded. To propagate, take stem cuttings in the spring, dip the cuttings in rooting hormone and plant them in regular potting soil. Provide bottom heat (70F) from a propagation mat or heating cable until the cuttings root. You can put the plants outdoors during the summer and then bring them in during the fall and winter months. Datura produce 10 inch long flaring trumpets that are spectacular!
