| There are both sweet and sour orange types, as well as thick and thin skinned ones. If you have an orange with a high acid content, it will taste sour. There's no way to make a sour orange sweet enough to eat out of hand, but they're perfect for cooking and excellent in marmalade. Weather can influence the sweetness of a sweet orange. If they experience some cold weather just prior to ripening, they'll be sweeter. |
