What vegetables should not go directly into the ground in FL? - Knowledgebase Question

Need tips on gardening in FL. Do we use the dirt as is,, or amend it? Heard somethings like don't plant certain vegetables directly into the ground. Please help I love to garden. Also any tips for people with M.S. getting easier to use tools,? Thanks

Cindy,

Add an inch or two of well decomposed compost and mix it in well. I am not sure what you mean about not planting directly in the ground. Some vegetables are typically direct seeded and others are usually transplanted. The following web site offers great advice on vegetable gardening in Florida:
