I was wondering if it is okay to take last years soil from my containers, dump it all in a wheelbarrow, mix new potting soil and feed and reuse for this year?

Potting soil can become depleted over a few years of use so you'll want to mix some fresh potting soil into it before using it again. Your idea of mixing everything together in a wheelbarrow is a good one.
