My indoor mini rose has a white powdery mildew or fungus on it. How do I get rid of it? Also how do I prevent it? |
Sounds as though your rose has powdery mildew, a fungal disease. It could have had it before you brought it home, or it could have developed because it's not getting the correct environmental conditions. Your mini-rose needs average household temperatures, a sunny windowsill, good air circulation all around the plant, and ample moisture. You can remove the leaves affected with powdery mildew so it won't spread to healthy leaves. Alternately, you can spray with a fungicide, or dust the leaves withsulfur powder. There are a few houseplant sprays on the market that will be effective against powdery mildew. Read and apply according to label directions. |
