I live in Antioch, Ca. I have always purchased the Red Hibiscus, and have planted them in my front yard were they get full sun and lots of water. But they always die within a month or two. We dibug our yard once a month,we read all the labels. I love this new color of Hibiscus, and want one but I'm afraid to buy it then it dies on me. What do you recomend that we do to solve the problem with this type of Flower, or what are we doing wrong? Help, I want this color of Hibiscus.

Although Hibiscus Satin Blue is sold in your gardening region, it will be marginal. This plant loves heat and your proximity to the San Francisco Bay area indicates the climate will be too cool and moist for this plant to be happy. If you can find a sunny area that's warm and dry (perhaps on the south side of a building) you might have success growing this plant. Otherwise, I'm afraid it won't thrive for you.

Wish I had better news for you!
