i planted 3 new hydrangeas about 2-3 weeks ago and after the cold weather we've had the flowers are wilted.
When shouold I prune the spent flowers and will my shrubs survive?

I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question and hope it is still helpful to you.

After the flowers wilt and are spent they can be removed. Cut them back to the first good strong leaf or to where the flower stem joins another branch. Hydrangeas are quite hardy and yours should be fine. Keep the soil moist but not soggy wet.
