Early spring is an excellent time to plant, or transplant brambles of any kind. Be sure to prepare the soil before moving the new plants in. Incorporate as much organic matter as you can, and make sure the area is weed-free. Then plant your raspberries and add a mulch over the top of the soil to help retain moisture and to stop weed seeds from germinating.
