I was wondering what type of fertilizer/soil would be best to use with plants in pots for a long period of time. I would like something simple that doesn't require to much mainttenance.
Thank you!

I would recommend using a good quality soil-less potting mix formulated for container plants. These are usually based on milled spagnum peat moss or bark mixed with perlite or vermiculite. As a convenience and time saver, some formulations include a slow release fertilizer as well.
