How do I plant the easter lillies I got? Is sun or shade best? Do they come back every year?

You can plant the Easter lily outside and, assuming it is a hardy variety, it will rebloom each summer. Begin by acclimating it to the outdoors. Place it in a sheltered location and gradually move it into brighter conditions. Meanwhile, keep the soil moist but not sopping wet. Then, select a location in full or half-day sun with rich soil that is well drained, meaning not soggy. Plant the lily slightly deeper than it is growing in the pot. Water it in well, mulch, and water as needed to keep the soil slightly moist but not sopping wet. Allow the stem and foliage to grow all summer. Late next fall, remove the stem and cover the bulb with several inches of mulch for the winter. With luck, it will peek out of the soil again next spring about when the tulips bloom.
