| Kriti, I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question and hope it is still helpful to you. Bonsai are normal plants (trees) kept miniature by pruning and the confined growing space for their roots. Keep the plant in plenty of sunlight (morning sun and afternoon shade is fine) and keep the soil moist to prevent added stress to the plant. There is not a need to repot it if it is a new gift plant.
