My lawn had developed crab grass last season. What do you advise my first step should be?

Crabgrass can be prevented by applying a pre-emergent crabgrass control product such as corn gluten. This needs to be spread early, before the crabgrass begins to germinate. This would be done about when the forsythia bloom in your neighborhood. If you find there are large bare areas, you may want to reseed them in late summer or early fall. That is the best time of year for seeding lawn grasses. Good luck with your lawn this summer!
