With recent record breaking cold (25 degrees), I see lots of damage in my yard to trees that had already leafed out. What can I expect of my Japanese Maples, will they put out a new set of leaves. How about mature oaks & hickorys?
Also of concern are pierus (sp?), hydrangeas, hostas, ferns.

Your plants will suffer some dieback but they should begin leafing out again soon. Once they do, you can prune away anything that's obviously dead. Let's hope that's the end of the freezes for the season!
