The Q&A Archives: Wisteria

Question: Wisteria, I planted one last summer, and I just could not get it to grow. It came up but stayed the same size. Perhaps its the soil

Answer: I would expect it to show some increase in size this year. Make sure you have a sturdy sipport in place for it. Most vines take several years to become established and well rooted and then begin to grow their best. Wisteria will grow best in a full sun location. Keep the area around it mulched with several inches of organic mulch year round. Here are some additional tips on wisteria care and training that you may find helpful.
