I WANT TO PLANT SOMETHING TO BRIGHTEN UP MY YARD, BUT I'M SCARED OF BEES SO I'M TRYING TO FIND OUT IF THERE'S CERTAIN FLOWERS THAT BEES ARE LESS ATTRACTED TO OR IF I'M GOING TO BE STUCK BUYING COLORED SHRUBS INSTEAD.
ALSO, WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ANNUALS AND PERINNIALS?

Patricia,

I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question and hope it is still helpful to you. Annuals complete their live cycle in one year or less. Perennials return year after year. Some flowers that don't attract bees include cultivars of dianthus, geraniums, chrysanthemums, marigolds, strawflowers, some zinnias and many roses. There are others so you might visit gardens and garden centers to note which blooms you like that seem to not be visited by bees.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
