Bare areas - Knowledgebase Question

How can I grow grass in areas where there are bare spots and brown old grass? What will be the the best solution?

I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question and hope it is still helpful to you. I suggest you rake out the old dead grass and replug fresh new grass into those areas. Then keep the area moist for a few weeks to help the new turf establish well. Fertilize the area to encourage fast new growth. If the dead spots continue to reappear contact your County Extension Office to see about bringing in a sample for diagnosis.
