I am going to be constucting a four foot tall retaining wall in my back yard and filling it with lots of greenery and trees. What should I use to reinforce the wall so it won't collapse.

This is a complex question. You will need to provide a foundation deeper than the frost line and also provide for drainage behind the wall to prevent a build up of water pressure in addition to using appropriate materials and methods. I would suggest you consult on site with a professionally trained, degreed landscape architect and/or your professional contractor for construction guidelines. Your local building code may also include specific requirements that must be met. Good luck with your project!
