The red lily beetles overwinter in the soil or under debris in the garden so they are not in the lily bulbs themselves. The recommended controls are sprays containing neem which can control larvae and repel adults, or carbaryl (Sevin) or imidacloprid. Please be sure to read and carefully follow all of the label directions. Handpicking if you see them on the plant can also be helpful.
