I am wanting to grow banana squash. With our weather, would I encounter any problems starting them now?

According to the vegetable planting guide from the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension office, these are the best times for sowing squash in the low desert:

Summer squash: after mid-February up to mid-April, and then again from mid-August to the end of August.

Winter squash: throughout March, and then again from mid-July to the end of July.

These are guidelines. Your microclimate and each year's weather can influence results.
