The Q&A Archives: Avocado tree

Question: I have a very young avocado tree planted in the middle of a rose patch. I have read that avocado trees have too dense a shade for flowers to grow under them. Should I transplant the tree?

Answer: As the tree grows and shades the roses, your roses will stop flowering. I'd either move the tree or move the roses. Roses need all day sunshine in order to perform well.

Best wishes with your landscape!
