| Hostas can be dug and divided almost any time during the growing season, but early spring just as they begin to grow is a good time as is early fall. Keep in mind that they do grow to quite a large size and once they reach specimen size it is a shame to have to divide them, if you have space to accomodate them at maturity try to space your divisions accordingly. |
