The Q&A Archives: Is it safe to uncover perennials?

Question: I live in central MN and question when I can uncover my perennials. Some are coming up and I don't know if it's better to uncover and let the earth dry too or wait until we're sure frost won't occur.

Answer: Weather has been so strange this spring that I'd wait a bit longer to make sure there isn't a late frost. Or you could uncover, monitor weather forecasts and be prepared to cover if cold is predicted. But that can be alot of work depending on how many plants you have. Good luck with your spring garden!
