Our property line in back of house faces the back of a store, we want to plant a row of shrubs or trees for privacy and and just so the back yard looks nicer. There are power lines about 25 or 30 feet above the property line, also we would like something fairly fast growing. any suggestions? thanks, Richie |
It's important to choose something that stay well below those power lines, otherwise you'll have to cut the trees back regularly, which looks unattractive and is unhealthy for them long-term. Not to mention the safety issue! Utilities are usually empowered to chop things back on their own, and aesthetics is not their concern, so you can end up with an unintentional eyesore! It's also a good idea to choose a native or well-adapted species that thrives in local conditions. Here is the website for Larimer County Cooperative Extension's horticulture program. It provides plant lists of proven species for your area. http://www.ext.colostate.edu/p... |
