I would love to see grow an apple tree in front of my newly bought home. What is the best one to plant, considering this Texas extreme over 100s temperature in summer, always sun exposure, dry soil? I've grown several plants, including herbs, in pots, but never in soil. Please advise! Thank you in advance, Lili.

Lili,

I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question and hope it is still helpful to you.

There are several apples that will do well in your area. The following web site lists some good choices. Keep in mind that you will need two varieties of apples so they can pollinate each other.
