The Q&A Archives: Arborvitae

Question: Can Arborvitae be trimmed and how can this be done. I have several that have grown too tall.

Answer: You can trim them. Early spring before they begin to grow for the year is the best time. Otherwise, you could do it in early summer. If they are truly too large for where they are planted, you might want to consider replacing them with something that would be a better fit for the space.
