I just bought a house with a fairly shade front yard. i have a 3 year old who loves to be outside but has allergies. what would you suggest planting in a small planter area in front of the porch and house. there are large shrubs from the previous owners but i have an area that needs to be filled in next to the driveway. I am quite busy so they need to be low maintanance and something that will come back each year. please help! Jenny |
Jenny, I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question and hope it is still helpful to you. There are many options and it really comes down to what you find to be aesthetically most appealing. Flowering plants are not the cause of allergies in most cases. Trees and weeds and some grasses have wind borne pollen that is the cause of the vat majority of allergies. The following web sites list some great flowering plants for Georgia: http://pubs.caes.uga.edu/caesp... http://pubs.caes.uga.edu/caesp... Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon! |
