What grass does well in shade & is drought tolerant

I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question and hope it is still helpful to you.

That combination would probably mean the broad leaved types of zoysia such as JaMur, El Toro, or Palisades. But St. Augustine is more shade tolerant than zoysia and in shade you will not have to water it much at all. Very unlike its performance in the sun.
