My Bleeding Heart was nipped by a couple of below freezing temps. They show some signs of frost damage but also some foliage yet. I have since covered it each night and am wondering if it will snap out it this year. Thanks! |
As you've discovered, the tops of Dicentra (Bleeding Heart) are frost tender, but the roots are relatively hardy. I'd prune away anything that's obviously dead and leave the rest. Your plant may even send out new growth from the crown of the plant. Hope so! |
