Arlene,

I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question and hope it is still helpful to you.

Mother-In-Law's Tongue or Sanseveria is a very tough plant tolerant of a range of conditions. They can take very bright indirect light on down to low light, but prefer a bright light exposure but not direct sun. They are drought tolerant but grow best with moderately moist soil and good drainage. While indoors is okay with them they also do well outdoors on a covered porch or other bright shaded area. Fertilize them periodically to maintain moderate vigor.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
