Should I apply fertilizer w/crab weed control before or after rain?

Please check your label directions. Fertilizer is usually best applied when it will rain within 24 hours, or be watered in, so it is washed off the foliage. Crab grass control is a pre-emergent and needs to be in contact with the soil, so rain or watering will help move it down to the soil surface. Other products with herbicide will have different instructions as the granules must be in contact with the foliage to be effective.
