The Q&A Archives: Planting fruit trees

Question: I have a Armstrong Satsuma tree, do I need another one to cross pollenate with?

Answer: Satsuma mandarin is considered self-fruitful and will produce a crop without cross-pollination. If you have other citrus trees in the neighborhood, you might get a larger crop, but planting a second mandarin is not really necessary.
