What kind of shrub can i plant in a shady area? The area doesn't get full sun any time of the day. the soil is moist most of the time.

There are several shrubs I can think of that might do well for you. You could consider Itea virginica (Sweetspire), Clethra alnifolia (Summersweet clethra), the shrub dogwoods such as Cornus sericea, or Ilex glabra (Inkberry Holly). All of these enjoy moist soil and will tolerate shade.
