Bacillus Thuringiensis is a bacterium that acts as a stomach poison and is used to control caterpillars. The larvae (of moths and butterflies) must consume it in order for it to work. So, yes, there is an indirect danger to butterflies if the larvae eat plant material treated with Bt. The bacterium doesn't have any effect on humans or animals.
