The Q&A Archives: grasses

Question: What type of grass that is quick to start, pretty hardy, not burmuda or anyother vine traveling grasses. Oonly have one month before need to use. Not necessarly permanent, just to keep the dust down and something nice to walk on. Region California nice weather.

Answer: You can purchase a single variety of grass, or a mixture of grass seeds. In your region, tall fescue, Kentucky bluegrass, perennial ryegrass and red fescue will all grow well. Since it's only temporary, I'd look for the least expensive and broadcast it over the area to hold down the dust.

Best wishes with your landscape!
