I recently installed a sprinkler system and a new garden. I have annuals, gardenia shrubs and a queen palm planted. How often do I water and for how long to best suit the garden and lawn. The lawn and garden are on seperate zones of the sprinkler system.

Doug,

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

Water the lawn and the annuals with a good soaking (about 1" of irrigation) once or at the most twice a week (if soil is sandy). The palm can do with less unless the area is on the same zone as the annuals.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
