How do I maximize the germination rate of Snaps and Phlox? I've never tried to germinate these before.

Both snapdragon and phlox seeds will germinate best if you supply bottom heat. The snaps will take 7-10 days to germinate and the phlox will take 10-15 days. If you don't have a heating coil, just sow the seeds in flats of moistened potting soil, cover the flats with plastic wrap, and put them in a warm place, like the top of your refrigerator. After most of the seeds have germinated remove the plastic and place the flats under a source of artificial light. Leave the light on 14-16 hours each day, and turn it of a night. Thin your plants after they've developed their first set of leaves and transplant them to individual pots after they've developed their second set of leaves. Snaps can go into the garden 2 weeks before your last frost. Phlox can go into the garden 2 weeks after your last frost.

Good luck with your new project!
