I planted some 8ft weeping white pines last fall. Half of the needles are brown. Is there any hope? I also planted some blue spruce, 6ft tall, two years ago. They were fine but now they lower braches are losing needles. The loss is moving up the tree from the bottom. Ideas? Hope? Start again? |
Based on your description I am not able to diagnose the problems with your trees. There are several serious pest and disease problems that can cause browning, but weather conditions and cultural conditions can also sometimes contribute to browning. You will need a specific diagnosis before you can begin to treat the trees. I would suggest you work with your local county extension to obtain a specific diagnosis of the problems with both trees and based on knowing that, determine how to proceed. I would also suggest you consult immediately with the retailer where you purchased the weeping pines if they are under warranty. |
