This year due to a late freeze my hydrangea's had started to grow and then froze. I am not sure how to trim them. Some areas are coming back and some are not. Do I trim off all the frozen areas or do I just wait and see what will come back and then trim them? Thanks for your help. This site is so wonderful to have you experts at my finger tips. |
Happy to hear you like the site! Your hydrangea's have probably suffered only minor damage but it's too soon to know for certain. I'd give them another 2-3 weeks to recover and then prune back anything that is obviously dead. If you prune too soon, you may be pruning off stems that still have potential. It's better to wait. Best wishes with your garden, and please stop by again. |
