The Q&A Archives: Hydrangeas

Question: Can hydrangeas, particularly the Forever Pink variety, be planted in full sun? Or do the do better in mostly shade?

Answer: Hydrangeas really prefer to have morning sun and afternoon shade. If they're in hot afternoon sunshine they tend to wilt. If you have a choice, place them where they'll get a few hours of morning sun and then either full afternoon shade or at the very least, filtered afternoon shade.

Best wishes with your hydrangeas!
