How can I get my grass green(er) in my back yard? I have quite a few trees in my backyard, so there for it does not get alot of sun. Is there any hope for me at this point?

Kellie,

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

Fertilizer is the key to green. Just don't overdo it as it can lead to shallower rooting and more disease susceptibility. Shade is going to slow growth and make it thinner. Brightening the shade by pruning out some overhead branches will help.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
