I have a long thin area bordering my garage that needs some colorful plants there. BUT I'm deathly afraid of bees, so I'm not looking at flowers, but are there any other plants that I could plant there? Its under the garage overhang so it's in the shade the majority of the day. Thanks!

I'd go with colorful foliage or flowers that generally do not attract bees. You might try coleus, begonia, impatiens and hosta in that site. There may be others - visit your local garden center to find even more.

Best wishes with your garden!
