The Q&A Archives: st augustine grass

Question: I have round dead spots in my st augustine grass. What can I do about this?

Answer: Daisy,

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

That is most likely the remnants of brown patch fungus. It is no longer active with warming weather and the spots should regreen soon on their own with normal care. The disease is a fall and spring problem.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
