I am interested in sodding my yard. It has grass now and I am wondering what the progression of steps are to remove the existing lawn, prepare the soil, and put down sod. I have an idea, but would like some help. thanks

Sounds like you already have a good plan of attack. Here are the steps recommended for renovating an old lawn: Apply Roundup or Kleen Up type killers on hardy weeds and grasses. Rototill the area then rake to remove old grass, weeds, rocks and other debris. Then rake to smooth the area and it will be ready to receive your new sod.
