The Q&A Archives: Blue Spruce

Question: I heard that acidic soil is best for spruces, is that true?

Answer: Spruces will tolerate most soil types and prefer soil in the pH range of 3.7 to 6.5, which is quite acidic to nearly neutral. If you have acid soil, a spruce will be happy.
