The Q&A Archives: Planting

Question: I would like to plant some flowers in my back yard but i want something without a lots of work to do and no thorns. The area i will use will be in the sun all day. I love roses but don't like the thorns.

Answer: Janie,

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

I suggest zinnias, yellow bells (Tecoma stans), blue plumbago, Salvia 'Mystic Spires', 'New Gold' lantana, and the rose varieties Marie Pavie or Marie Daly both of which are almost thornless.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
