Woodchucks are members of the squirrel family and are very difficult to control. You can try fencing your hostas, or using a deterrent such as Shake-Away Small-Critter Powder. (Available online at www.critter-repellent.com/woodchucks/test/woodchucks-test-garden-flowerbed.htm)

Good luck with your hostas!
