The Q&A Archives: when to prune

Question: I have miniture rose bushes, and I am wondering when should I prune? The roses have bloomed and the petals are now falling off... please help!

Answer: To keep your roses blooming for as long as possible, remove the spent flowers as soon as they begin to fade. As will all roses, prune the flower stem down to a 5-leaf leaflet. This is where new flowering stems will develop.

Enjoy your roses!
