| There are many perennials you could use. If you want to continue the gold theme you could try Coreopis and yellow daylilies (Hemerocallis) for late spring and summer blooms along with some daffodil bulbs for early spring color. Additional perennial plants you might use might include any of the sedums along with purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) or possibly creeping thyme (Thymus) or creeping phlox (Phlox subulata).
