I just recently purchased a viva plant called the African Daisy (Naunza?) It has a bronze/purplish color. The label on the container states that it's a perennial, but the small plastic sign stakes that are stuck in the dirt states that it's an annual. I bought two, and both of them contain the sticket and the plastic stake. I don't know if these are actually perennials or actually annuals? I just wanted to know so that I can better know what the plant needs. thanks!

African Daisy (Dimorphotheca aurantiaca) is a native of South Africa and although a perennial there, is considered an annual in all but the warmest parts of the southwestern United States. Your plant, if in a frost-free garden spot, will act more like a perennial. I would treat it like a permanent member of the garden. If frost kills it back, it may resprout - or if you're lucky, seedlings will appear nearby. Your new plant prefers full sun in well-drained soils. You will be delighted with this outstanding performer.

Enjoy your new plants!
